Card #2 of My “12 Christmas Cards you Can Make This Year” Series!

Make this Fun Gatefold Christmas Card featuring Joyful Ride

Day 2

Fun Fold Card

Featuring Joyful Ride: Scrapbook.com

Today’s project marks Day 2 of my series, “12 Days of Christmas Cards you Can Make This Year”. This is another fun fold card! It’s a gate fold with a scalloped rectangle door. This project features the ( Joyful Ride ) photopolymer stamp set and coordinating dies by Scrapbook.com. Is this not the most adorable car? The set seems to combine a feeling of whimsical nostalgia with contemporary flourish that will surely bring the Christmas Spirit to anyone receiving this delightful card! There are many ways the stamp and die sets can be used. I also made a card – not shown here – with the tree stamped and die cut and placed on top of the car. There’s even a tie cord in the set for this purpose. This is my second year using this stamp set and I just love it. It’s one of my favorites and has loads of options. I enjoy mixing up the color themes, sometimes choosing traditional colors of red and greens and other times choosing pastels.

  • Poppy Parade Cardstock-Stampin’Up!
  • Merry Patterned Cardstock- Scrapbook.com
  • Joyful Ride Stamp Set & Coordinating Dies- Scrapbook.com

  • Momento: Tuxedo Black Ink Pad

  • 3” Scalloped Rectangle Die-Amazon
  • Colorful Gems-Amazon

Let’s Do This!

Trim a piece of white cardstock to: 4.25” x 11” and score BOTH sides at 2.75”

Use a piece of the white cardstock to die cut a rectangle with the 3” scalloped rectangle die.

Use a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to die cut a rectangle with the 4” scalloped rectangle die.

Trim 2 pieces of the double sided patterned cardstock to 2.5 x 4” making a total of 4 pieces. 2 for the outside of the gate folds and 2 for the inside left and right sides.

Use the black ink pad to Stamp the tree image onto a piece of white cardstock and use the tree die to cut it out.

Use the black ink pad to stamp the car image onto the white die cut rectangle and color the car with the soft sea foam marker. The soft sea foam is a good match for the stripes in the designer cardstock.

Burnish the scored lines on the 11” white cardstock BASE and adhere the 2.5 x 4” patterned cardstock to each side of the gate fold. Then adhere the opposite patterns to the inside, left and right panels of the card base.

Next, adhere the white rectangle with the car stamped on it to the poppy parade rectangle, centering the rectangles. Then adhere the LEFT side of the rectangle to the LEFT side of the card base, centering them.

Next, adhere the tree die cut image to the left side of the car. Finish up this delightfully whimsical Christmas card with a few matching gems and there you go! You have made this adorable card using the Joyful Ride Stamp set!

Of course, you can easily change up the dimensions of this card or use different patterned papers and different stamp sets to make this cute gate fold card and I fully encourage you to take these ideas and make them your own.

I hope you have enjoyed this project today. It’s the 2nd card in my 12 Days of Christmas Cards series so there are loads more to come! Just remember: Keep it Krafty!
