How To Make These Fun Halloween Dome Cup Candy Holders

Hello and welcome to my studio. Can you believe Halloween is just around the corner? It’s just past Labor Day and suddenly we’re in autumn! Some of my trees are already changing color and dropping leaves.

Have you been seeing these cute dome cup holders all around? I’ve seen some at a craft fair and I’ve seen a few online. The ones at the craft fair sold for around $10 each EMPTY. They are adorable but, you know, I’m a crafter. I thought, “ooh…I want some of those but I’ll make them myself-if I can.” Turns out I can, so I did! And I’ve decided to share not only this idea with you but also my free design in Cricut Design Space. Keep reading below to find my link.

These turned out so stinking cute! I’ve had ever so much fun making them. The cup holder itself has only 5 pieces and it’s super simple to put together. Then you decorate them any way you like. I’ve shared some of my decoration designs in my CDS project but you can always just use those as inspiration and find your own designs. There are thousands to choose from so the most difficult part is making your choices.

Next, I’ll share my small list of supplies along with any helpful links to the products I used. Then I’ll share the very simple how-to along with the link to my free design in Cricut Design Space. You’re gonna want to make these fun Halloween dome cup candy holders.

CARD STOCK: Black. heavy weight[ 100lb.] is best LIKE THIS https://www.scrapbook.com/store/sbc-paperpad-117.html
CARD STOCK: White [80lb] is best. https://www.scrapbook.com/store/sbc-cdpk-50.html
FOILED CARD STOCK: silver- for the web(optional)
6 oz. DOME LIDDED CUPS- I bought mine on Amazon: 8 oz. Will also work.
Tombow Glue or a strong Double Sided Tape https://www.scrapbook.com/store/monmulliqglu.html

Let’s Get Krafty

Click on THIS LINK to my design in Cricut Design Space and choose (Make It). I’ve sized this to fit the 6oz. Dome cups.
Allow your Cricut to cut the pieces for the holder from your choice color of card stock. I’ve used black for this one.
You’ll need to do a bit of scoring on 3 of the pieces. Don’t worry, it’s easy! I’ll share a photo below for reference.
Next, you’ll simply adhere the pieces together. Attach the handle pieces to each side of the square cup holder. Adhere the 2 square pieces to the bottom for support.
Allow your Cricut to cut the decorative pieces. I’ve shared some on this project but feel free to choose your own.
Finally, decorate your Handled Cup Holder with the ephemera you’ve cut and anything else you like. Did I mention how much fun this is?

**I DECORATED BOTH SIDES OF MY CUP HOLDERS- BECAUSE IT’S FUN**

THE LARGER IMAGES AT THE BOTTOM ARE MADE WITH WHITE CARD STOCK AND THE “PRINT THEN CUT” -WE CAN MAKE BUNCHES AND BUNCHES OF OUR EPHEMERA THIS WAY. THE SMALLER ONES AT THE TOP ARE STICKERS. PRINT THEN CUT ON STICKER PAPER. IT’S SO MUCH FUN!

CLICK ON MY LINK- CHOOSE [MAKE IT] AND YOU’LL BE TAKEN TO A CANVAS THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS. YOU’LL CHOOSE ONE OF THE COLOR CHOICES- GO TO LAYERS AND HIDE THE OTHERS. THEN ALLOW YOUR MACHINE TO CUT IT FOR YOU.

FOR THIS SQUARE CUP HOLDER PIECE, YOU’LL NEED TO DO A BIT OF SCORING. JUST USE A STRAIGHT EDGE AND SCORING TOOL OR BONE FOLDER AND SCORE AS IN THIS PHOTO. THEN YOU’LL FOLD IT UP AND SECURE IT WITH GLUE.

USE SCISSORS TO CUT LITTLE WEDGES AS IN THIS PHOTO SO THAT YOU CAN FOLD THIS INTO THE BOXY SHAPE. YOU’LL BE ABLE TO SEE WHERE TO ADD THE GLUE TO SECURE YOUR HOLDER.

ATTACH THE 2 HANDLE PIECES TO ONE OF THE SQUARE PIECES WITH GLUE OR STRONG DOUBLE SIDED TAPE. THEN ATTACH THE CUP HOLDER TO THE CENTER.

FOR THE DECORATIVE PIECES ( EPHEMERA ) YOU WILL BE USING CRICUT’S PRINT THEN CUT FUNCTION. PRINT ON WHITE CARD STOCK THEN PLACE ON YOUR MAT AND ALLOW CRICUT TO CUT THE IMAGES FOR YOU!

THERE ARE SO MANY CUTE IMAGES TO CHOOSE FROM IN CDS. THE MOST DIFFICULT PART IS MAKING YOUR CHOICES. I SUGGEST MAKING LOTS AT THE TIME TO USE ON ALL OF YOUR HALLOWEEN DOME CUP CANDY HOLDERS.

LASTLY, FILL YOUR DOME CUPS WITH CANDY, SMALL GIFTS AND STICKERS. PLACE THEM IN THE CUP HOLDER. YOU ADJUST THE SIZE OF THE CIRCLE BY USING SCISSORS TO CUT LITTLE SLITS AROUND THE EDGE. BRING YOUR HANDLES TOGETHER. I CHOSE TO STAPLE THE HANDLES NEAR THE BOTTOM TO HOLD IT ALL SECURE.
