Using Your Cricut & the UPLOAD Function
Hello and welcome to my studio. Welp, they’ve done it! They brought the Smurfs to 2025 and what smurf-tastic nostalgia is this? Right? Do you have a child who loves the Smurfs? A grandchild, niece, nephew or classroom who loves the Smurfs? I’ve always loved the Smurfs since I was a kid. And, a-hem, we’re not going to even talk about how long ago that was. However, I’ve designed a fun color-me Smurf Birthday card. And I decided to share this idea with you along with a link to the SVG files I used.
In addition to that, I’ve designed some color-me stickers for party favors. You’ll upload your own SVG files. I’ll explain the process. Then you allow your Cricut to cut out the stickers and add them to your party favor bags so all the kids can join the fun! I used some of the stickers on the front of small boxes of crayons that I added in the goodie bags. You can use your chosen designs and print and cut as many stickers as you like! The kids will love coloring their very own Smurf Stickers. It’s just so smurfy!

Making the Card
This is really such a quick and easy project. And I believe it’s going to be lots of fun for the little ones. For the card, find a piece of blue-try to get close to the Smurfy blue- card stock. Trim the card stock to 8.5 x 5.5”. Score the 8.5” side at 4.25”. This will create a card base that is A2 size of 4.25 x 5.5”. Alternately, use a piece of white card stock for the base and trim a piece of blue to 4 x 5.25” for the background.
Now, start up your Cricut and go to your canvas. Click the + and on the menu, choose [UPLOAD]. Next, you’ll go to your files to find your downloads. Choose a Smurf image you want to use to make a sticker. You’ll need to do one at a time. Cricut will take you through the steps.

Finalizing Your Smurf Project
Finally, it’s time to finish your “color-me” Smurf birthday card. Simply take one of the stickers you made and adhere it to the front of your card. You can go into images and choose a fun birthday sentiment and create a sticker with that as well. Then you just peel off the backing and adhere it to the bottom of your card.
Creating the Message
For your inside message, you can create a message online and print it out. Then trim the paper to adhere inside of your card. Or you can use the text function with your Cricut to create a message for the inside of your card. You can have your message [Print then Cut] or you can edit it to “draw” your message for the inside. For my card, I used the [print then cut] for the inside message. My message is, “Wishing you a Smurf-tastic Birthday, “child’s name” because I think you’re just Smurfy!”

I’ve shared a link to my actual project in Cricut Design Space HERE But because it’s copywrite images, you can only view my design but Cricut cannot allow you to make it. However, as I’ve shown above, it’s easy to find your own SVG/PNG files and upload them to Cricut for your own use. This is a great function we have with CDS. Not only do we have over one million images to choose from, we can upload as many of our own as we wish. It’s just amazing.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this project today. If you’re new to the world of Cricut, I hope you find this post informative. If you’re a seasoned Cricut-er, I hope this post has inspired you to make your own “color-me” stickers for the kids. They’re gonna love them. No matter what you decide to make just make it your own and always remember to Keep it Krafty my friends! Until next time , bye bye!
