I’ll Share My Free Design + How-To Video

Hello, and welcome to my studio! It’s summer here in the southern part of the US. That means it’s HOT! No, I mean really hot. This week’s temperatures are between 90-100 degrees Fahrenheit. YIKES! I spend plenty of time outdoors, I just love the outdoors but…(it is so hot). What a great time to stay indoors creating amazing edge cards, right? Your Cricut machine will do most of the work for you. Keep reading below to see how.

Today, I’m sharing my FREE design{ find my link below} for this absolutely darling Mermaid Edge Card. I truly dislike using this term, but I can’t help it. I am obsessed with Edge Cards lately. Now, You’ll notice I left out a step in the video. OOPSIE! I used the “undo” tool to go back and duplicate the mermaid image. I could have edited this out of the video. Mistakes happen. However, I wanted to show how we can go back a few steps to make changes without starting over. Next, I’ll share a list of supplies I used to make this card.

Assembling Your Card

Now all we have to do is assemble our lovely edge card. Once you remove your cut card base from your machine, and your “print then cut” mermaid, set them on your work surface. If you choose to add the (optional) FOILED accent pieces to the mermaid tail, make certain you cut the tail pieces from foiled cardstock. Adhere the foiled pieces to the mermaid tail.

Fold your card base in half lining up the edges perfectly. This creates an A2 card of 4.25 x 5.5”. Next, if you are using a patterned paper for the background, trim it to size ~ (3.25 x 5.25). Adhere the designer paper to the card base. Adhere your mermaid aligning it on the edge, you’ll be able to see exactly where it goes. If you are going to use an age number on the front of the card, search{ Cricut Images: Under the sea numbers} There are over 9,000 images to choose from. Amazing, right? Your card is complete!

I hope you have enjoyed this project today! This has been one of my favorites. Whether you are familiar with Cricut and designing greeting cards or you’re a novice, you’ll find this project to be quick and easy. Go ahead and design some of your own edge cards! I’m so sorry but it’s very addicting. There are so many possibilities! Whatever you choose to do just make it your own and always remember to Keep It Krafty! Until next time, bye bye!
