These Easy Boxes Hold Lots of Good Things

Hello and welcome to my studio! I’m so happy to have you here today. Because today I’m sharing how to make these easy handmade gift boxes. The finished size of these boxes is 3.5” Tall x 3.75” Wide x 2” Deep. That’s a nice size gift box! And these boxes hold lots of good things. They’re easy enough to make in multiples if you were to need them for a kid’s party, a bridal shower, baby shower etc.

Also, these boxes can be decorated any way you like making them perfect for anyone and any occasion. I just love making my own gift boxes. Greeting cards and gift/treat boxes are my favorite type of craft projects to make. We need these items more than anything else we make. I can’t begin to describe how happy I was when I learned we could make our own handmade gift boxes. Because I was forever trying to find just the right box for my little gifts out in the shops. I rarely found what I needed and had to pay up to $5 for whatever plain little boxes I could find. But when we make our own boxes, we are able to tailor them for our gifts and the recipient! Also, they only cost a few cents to make so I call that a true win-win.

Below, I’ve shared a list of the supplies I used to make these boxes. However, keep in mind that you can make these boxes for any occasion. Just changing the card stock changes the look of the box completely. And changing the belly band design creates an entirely new box! This is what’s so amazing about handmade crafts, right? 🙂 So keep reading to see that I’ve added a template for making these easy handmade gift boxes followed by a step by step tutorial. List of Supplies

For The Easy Handmade Gift Boxes

• Card Stock: solids or patterned
• Glue or a strong double sided adhesive
• Paper Trimmer with scoring tool
• Scissors

Candles Bellyband:

• Textured solid color card stock-Tan- : by Carta Bella ( This is high quality paper ) looks a bit like leather! I love it!
• Black card stock: for the belly band
• Birthday Candles Hot Foil Plate and “pewter” hot foil: by Spellbinders
• Glimmer Hot Foil Machine
• Nested Stitched Rectangle Dies
• 3D Embossing Folder: Plaid

Butterfly Bellyband:

• Patterned Card Stock: “Lovely & Beautiful” by Stampin’Up!
• Nested Stitched Circles Dies
• Hot Foil Plate: “CELEBRATE” and Gold hot foil
• Gold Foil Card Stock: for the butterfly
• Butterfly Punch or Cricut Designed Butterfly

Lion Bellyband:

• Patterned Card Stock: Tan
• Solid Card Stock: Orange
• Card Stock Ephemera: Lion { I made these CS Ephemera in this POST. }

Let’s Get Krafty

Let’s Get Krafty: Step by Step

• First, choose your 12 x 12” card stock and trim it to 6 x 12”.
• Next, Score the long side @ [ 3.75, 5.75, 9.5 & 11.5” ].
• Now, Score the short side @ [ 1.25” on both ends ].
• At this time, fold and burnish your score lines.
• And remove the areas indicated in the template above.
• Now, use your scissors to cut on the cut lines indicated in the template.
• Place glue on the small 1.25” section and fold the CS up to form the box.
• Next, place glue on one of the flaps at the bottom to close the bottom of the box.
• And now you’re ready to decorate your box how you wish!

Wow! That’s pretty easy, right?
