How to Make This Sweet-As-Honey Greeting Card

Featuring Pooh Bear

Hello and welcome to my studio! I just want to say I’m happy to have you here with me today. Because I love what I do and I adore sharing my ideas with you! And today, I’d like to share this greeting card that’s sweet as honey and features the ever-so-adored Pooh Bear!

Pooh Bear and friends has been added to Cricut Design Space “Images”. That means we can use this Disney version, the bear with the red shirt for personal use only. We can make items for ourselves or as gifts to others but we cannot sale anything made with these images. I love Pooh bear and friends. And I recently realized a whole lot of other people love it too! So I decided to make a greeting card, for a friend of mine, using this image of Pooh bear. However, I plan to make more greeting cards very soon using the classic images of Pooh and friends.

Let’s Get Krafty

  • First, take a piece of white card stock and emboss it with an embossing folder of choice. I used this splatter design from Stampin’Up!
  • Next, use your ink pads and ink blending tools and apply ink, blending it across that embossed design. Then trim that embossed CS to about 3.5” Square. This is for the colorful panel behind the heart.
  • Take your yellow CS and emboss it with your hexagon or honeycomb embossing folder.
  • Now use a heart shaped die or use your Cricut to cut a heart from that yellow embossed CS.
  • Click the link below if you wish to use my design in Cricut Design Space. Otherwise, you can choose your own images and just have your Cricut to pen then cut those images. This creates the same look as if we used a stamp and die set. But then we get to not only create varying sizes for these images, we also get to have fun coloring them as we wish.
  • Once you have had your Cricut to draw then cut, print then cut and cut all of your designs, set them aside.
  • Use glue to adhere the ink-blended square behind the heart cutout. Now, adhere the yellow honeycomb layer to the yellow-orange layer. Then adhere that to the blue greeting card base.
  • Use alcohol markers to color the Pooh bear and honey pot and adhere them onto your heart cutout. And then adhere your little “print then cut” bee at the top and your pen then cut sentiment to the bottom of your greeting card.
  • Use a black pen to create a flight pattern behind the little bee if you wish.
  • Lastly, adhere your pen then cut message panel to the inside of your greeting card.

Keeping It Krafty

In closing, I’d like to say, that was easy, right? Now imagine what other cute cards you can create using the various supplies and tools in your craft room together! Sometimes we just need a gentle reminder that we don’t always have to have that newest or latest trend in crafting. Because often enough, we have exactly what we need right now to be creative. Of course, I personally can’t resist buying new supplies here and there. But as often happens, I find a new supply that’s already in my craft room that I just forgot I even had. And sometimes, “cough-cough”, they’re brand new still in the original package. It’s a little like Christmas morning when I find those. Yet again, I start to question my spending habits!

Anyway, thank you for joining me here today. This was a really quick and easy project. And I love that we have the option to use different embossing folders, ink colors, images etc. to create this greeting card. I also love that we don’t have to use a Cricut to make a card like this. There are several companies that have Pooh and friends on offer in the form of stamps and dies. I know Stampin’Up! Has a set and I’ve seen more offered by companies such as Echo Park, Spellbinders etc. You can find lots of choices at Scrapbook.com. So, no matter what it is that you decide to make, just make it your own and always remember to keep it krafty!

Until next time,
