These Sweet Boxes Hold Treats or Small Gifts
Hello and welcome to my studio! I’m so happy to have you here today. Because today, I’m sharing one of my favorite crafting ideas. To know me is to know I adore making my own gift boxes. I enjoy giving gifts for any and all occasions or just because. Just now, I’m working on some Valentine’s Day gift packages for some of my crafty friends. And I designed these boxes to hold some of their gifts and treats. And these small but mighty boxes will be added to their packages. Fun, right?
Also, it’s good to have several gift boxes in your crafting repertoire. For years, I searched and searched the stores for just the right boxes to hold gifts I was gifting. Gift bags are okay, but I like to give wrapped gifts even more. So when I realized we can make our very own boxes using card stock and some glue I was absolutely thrilled! Seriously, it actually gave me little butterflies in my tummy. Now, any time I want to wrap a gift that needs a box, I just create one! It’s a good idea to save these box ideas for the future. A great way to do this is to FOLLOW ME ON PINTEREST and create a folder for Crafting (Gift Boxes) and save these ideas. I’ve shared a LINK below. So, without further ado, let’s get krafty and make these small sweet Valentine’s Day Treat Boxes.

Let’s Get Krafty
- First, choose your papers. Solid or patterned card stock will work great.
- Second, trim your card stock to 4 inches by 8 inches.
- Third, score the long side, the 8” side @ { 2, 3.75, 5.75 and 7.5” }
- Next, score the short side, the 4” side @ { 1 inch }
- Now fold and burnish your score lines.
- Then use your scissors to create your box “tabs” as in the diagram below.
- Last step to creating the base of your box, add glue to the tabs and fold up the bottom of the box. This box has an open top that you will pinch closed and secure with twine or ribbon. The finished size of this small, sweet Valentine’s Day box is { 2”w x 1.75”d x 3”h }.
- ** I was able to fit a container of embossing powder, small individual rubber stamps and Dove dark chocolates into these cute little boxes to give to my crafty friends!
