Showcase Beautiful Designer Paper with an Amazing Fun Fold Card
Hello and welcome to my studio! And I just want to say how happy I am that you are here. Well, Fall is definitely in the air! I think it’s wonderful. I love all seasons and Autumn is my favorite. I just love the colors nature displays and the crispness that’s in the air. Though I’ll have to rake every day and leaf blow my deck every day, I still love it. With my love for Autumn in mind, I created this dazzling Autumn themed fun fold card.
Recently I purchased the most gorgeous designer paper full of vivid, glossy Autumn colored designs. I’ll add a link in the supply list below. Since I make so many greeting cards, I enjoy making different types of fun folds for, well, the fun of it. And this fun fold not only shows off that gorgeous shiny paper but places your intended recipient in the spotlight. For example, this design boasts a glittery calendar showcasing your loved one’s birthday plus a birthday message.
Furthermore, I’ve used my Cricut to design the calendar, circles, Autumn elements and the “Happy Birthday to You” message. While I was at it, I decided to go ahead and create all of the rectangle layers that adorn this lovely card.
However, don’t worry if you have no Cricut. I will share all of the dimensions later in this post. You can still make a fun fold card like this using different designer papers, your own cutting dies, punches… There are plenty of choices when making this fun fold card. Next, I’ll share my list of supplies, followed by a tutorial for creating the Fun Fold Base. Not only that, but I’ve shared a LINK to my FREE design in Cricut Design Space.

Let’s Get Krafty
First things first, you’ll need to create the Base of your Fun Fold Card. So grab your tan card stock and your paper trimmer and follow these steps.
- Trim the card stock to 5.5 x 10.5”
- Score @ 3.5 and 7” and fold and burnish those score lines.
- Close the card at the 7” score line and use a pencil to mark these lines for cutting: inches: (3/8) (1-3/8) (1-5/8) (2-5/8) (2-7/8) (3-7/8) (4-1/8) and (5-1/8).
- Now use your trimmer or scissors to cut a straight line in from those marks to about 1-1/2” from the fold.

Let’s Decorate with Cricut
Now that you have created the base of your fun fold card, it’s time to decorate! Yay! I love this part. Okay, you’re right, I love every part of card making, don’t you? Right, if you are using your Cricut to create the calendar, circles, rectangles and Autumn elements then you’re in luck because I’ve created the designs for you. All you have to do is Click the Link below, follow the prompts to add your papers onto the cutting mat, glitter gel pen when prompted and add white card stock to your printer so the pumpkin and latte elements along with the birthday message can be “print then cut”. You’ll remove the printed card stock from your printer and place on your cutting mat and your Cricut will do the rest. Lovely.

Let’s Decorate—NO Cricut
Okay, so you either don’t have a Cricut or you’d simply rather not use it. No problem. You’ll just cut out your rectangular pieces with your paper trimmer. Here are the dimensions for that.
- White Card Stock: trim 2 pieces to (3.25 x 5.25”) and 4 pieces to (1.75 x 5.25”) and 8 block pieces to (1-3/8 x 7/8”).
- Designer Card Stock: Trim 2 pieces to (3-1/8 x 5-1/8”) and 4 pieces to (1-5/8 x 5-1/8”) and 8 block pieces to (3/4 x 1-1/4”)
- White Card Stock: Die Cut or Punch 2 Circles from Designer Paper approximately 2” in diameter. And make 2 Circles from White Card Stock approximately 1.75” in diameter.
- For the message on the right panel- you could use a rubber stamp or a computer using Docs. * I often use docs for the inside messages of my cards. Or you can simply hand write your message to your loved ones.
- For the Autumn Elements inside the circles: you can use stamps and dies, stickers and rub-ons, printed images that you fussy cut.
- For the Calendar, you can find images on Google and print them and then use your paper trimmer to trim the square. Or you can buy small calendars from sellers on Etsy. I’ve bought some before and they come in quite handy. Think personalized small calendar gifts. You could also create your own using CANVA. There’s lots of choices.

Finishing Your Dazzling Design
Finally, you’ve cut all of your rectangles and circles. You’ve got your calendar, message and your Autumn ephemera. It’s time to get out that glue and adhere your designer rectangles to their white card stock counterparts. You should have 14 completed rectangles. There are 6 large rectangles for the front and back and then 8 small rectangles for the blocks on the front.
Next, adhere your white circles to their larger designer circles and add on your chosen Autumn ephemera. Adhere your birthday message, if using, to one of the tall narrow rectangles. Lastly, adhere all of your rectangle designs to the front and back of your card base. And adhere your calendar element to the bottom left panel. That’s it! Refer to the pictures above for placement as well as how to stand and present this dazzling Autumn birthday card. That’s it! Now step back and take a look at your splendid design! It’s almost too pretty to give away, isn’t it?
Keeping it Krafty
In closing, I’d like to thank you for joining me here today at Kelli’s Kraft Studio. It really means a lot to me because I love crafting of all sorts and really love having someone like-minded with which to share these ideas. As usual, there are lots of choices as to how you can create a fun fold card like this one. Keep in mind, you can create your own message and it doesn’t have to be a birthday card. You could use this as a “hello”, “thank you”, “thinking of you” card.
ALSO keep in mind that you can choose a different month for the calendar. On the canvas of CDS just click * ADD IMAGE—- then search for {whatever month and year} Calendar you need. Choose which one you want and add it to the canvas. Then edit that image to either “print then cut” or “Draw”. No matter what you decide to make just make it your own and always remember to keep it Krafty! Until next time, bye-bye!
